Diamond Quilt - Quilt-As-You-Go/Serger Quilt

Speed and Accuracy are the name of the game in this class where you will learn techniques for assembling a quilt completely on your serger! Using sergers for piecing quilts is the latest trend as they sew a perfect quarter-inch seam, and do it in less than a third the time of your regular machine. If you do not own a serger, you are welcome to join us in making the quilt using your regular straight stitch machine.

If you would also like to learn how to make this as a QUILT-AS-YOU-GO quilt, then you can join us for Part Two on Friday, June 21st. In this class, you will learn how to assemble the quilt with batting and backing in ONE STEP, and no exposed seams, sashing or “joins”. As soon as you sew your blocks together, you are ready for the binding! The Second class is OPTIONAL, for those who would like to learn the QAYG technique in assembling this quilt. Materials Required: 2 yards of 108” (OR 4 yards 44”) background fabric, 1 yard light cotton batting, 12 coordinating fat quarters for center diamonds, 2.25 yards 44” Backing fabric. All are available for purchase at the shop. Teachers: LoriAnne & Kathleen; $45 for Part 1 Only, $65 for Parts 1&2; Adults; Serger and/or Straight stitch machine required; Intermediate/Advanced Level
